Podcast #67: Assessing and Profiling Pitchers in the SEC with South Carolina’s Bill Anderson

We recently had the pleasure of taking a trip down to the University of South Carolina to assess and evaluate their entire pitching staff. Today we’re sitting down with Bill Anderson, Director of Sports Performance at the University of South Carolina and revisiting the process. Topics Include:

    • What is strong enough
    • Plyometrics, the missing link
    • Mobility and its relationship with mechanics

Coach Anderson has been working for almost three decades at South Carolina. He oversees an experienced and talented staff of certified strength and conditioning coaches; and he works directly with the Baseball, Women’s Golf and Men’s Golf teams. He began working at South Carolina in 1992 as a graduate assistant. He was hired as a full-time member of the strength staff in 1994 and has been given increasingly greater responsibilities ever since.

A native of Stratford, Connecticut, Bill received his bachelor of science degree in health fitness from Springfield College in Massachusetts. While at Springfield, Anderson ran track all four years and until recently was the record holder in the 800 meter run.
