There are many factors to consider when putting together a great arm care program. For example:

- Do they have laxity?
- Are they generally tight?
- Do they present with anterior-ly tilted (rounded) shoulders?
These are all common problems, and all require a different approach when designing an arm care program. Many “cookie cutter” arm care programs only scratch the surface as far as strength and stability goes for pitchers, who have to stabilize extreme positions like end-range external rotation during lay-back. For these guys, we need to prescribe exercises that also create strength and stability for those more provocative positions as well.
Many of our guys currently playing fall ball will come in to get their arm worked on after or before throwing. While this is great, it can be detrimental if done incorrectly. Today, we’ll look at some of the arm care protocol we take some of our athletes through. Enjoy…
