Podcast #30: Recognizing the Qualities of a Great Prospect with Texas A&M’s Nate Yeskie

Today we’re sitting down with nationally renowned Texas A&M pitching Nate Yeskie. Having joined the Aggies in June 2021, he has long history of coaching at the highest echelons of college baseball. Before Texas A&M, he was with Arizona after coaching for 11 seasons with Oregon State.

During his nearly 18-year career, he has chiseled out a reputation as one of the elite pitching coaches in the country. He has taken his pitching staff to the College World Series with Oregon, Arizona and Texas A&M, which is quite an accomplishment. He has twice earned National Pitching Coach of the Year recognition from Collegiate Baseball and was tabbed the D1 Baseball Assistant Coach of the Year in 2017.

He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this podcast in terms of some natural qualities he looks for when looking for a great fit for his team. Other topics include his selective use of tech, handling adversity as well as the importance “being like water”.
