During the past few years, we’ve been asked numerous times for a throwing program for position players that can help with improving arm action and throwing velocity. Similar to pitching, arm action and throwing velocity are a function of many different and related topics, including overall physical strength, power, throwing mechanics and athleticism.
We have now developed a 10-week throwing program for position players to help improve arm action and throwing velocity. The program entails:

- Throwing drills to help create a more efficient and quicker arm path / action
- Drills to improve core movement from the ground up, creating quicker release times
- Drills to increase arm speed and throwing velocity, especially when combined with a formalized strength training program
- Arm care to improve mobility and stability, helping to reduce the risk of injury
Note: Like all other programs at RPP, we highly recommend that you also take part in a strength and conditioning program. There is no higher correlation to throwing velocity than overall strength, power and explosiveness. If you are already enrolled in our strength program, that’s great. If not, we highly recommend you join asap or concurrent with the throwing program above which begins in January.
Program Details

- 10 sessions, Saturday afternoons at 12:30 pm or 1:30 pm
- From Saturday, January 4th through Saturday, March 8th
- Sessions are semi-private (up to 3 athletes)
- 1 hour in length
General Policies

- No makeups and no rescheduling (if you can’t attend a session please simply attend the next one)
- No refunds under any circumstances
- SNOW Days:
- Given that our schedule is completely full, if we have to close due to a snow storm there will be no makeups
- There will NO refunds or credits for snow days
